Real Sociedad – Celta Vigo
Real Sociedad welcomes Celta Vigo in a match from the 20th round of the Spanish La Liga.
Real Sociedad are usually one of the top teams in the league, but this season is not going very well for them. La Real are currently 15th in the league standings with 23 points won so far. They are closer to the relegation zone than they are to the Top 4.
So far Eusebio’s team have won just 6 of their 19 games played, which is a big decline compared to last season. It seems that Eusebio still can’t find a way to improve his team’s performance. Real Sociedad lost three of their last five matches, winning just once – against Sevilla at home.
In their last game, Real Sociedad suffered a 2-4 defeat against Barcelona at the Anoeta, which was really disappointing. Mainly because La Real had a 2-0 advantage in the first half, which they weren’t able to keep.
Now Real Sociedad will look for a revival against Celta.
Celta is 12th in the league standings with 25 points won so far. Their record is 7 wins, 4 draws and 8 losses. In their last five matches, Celta won twice and lost twice. They are lacking consistency this season and this is what they will aim to improve until the end of the campaign.
In their last game, Celta enjoyed a win over Levante away from home. Now they are unbeaten in three consecutive matches and they will try to make it four against Real Sociedad.
Real Sociedad can’t use the injured David Zurutuza and Inigo Martinez, while Xabi Prieto, Ruben Pardo and Carlos Vela are doubtful with injuries. The good news comes from the recovery of Carlos Martinez.
Celta can’t use Kevin Vasquez, who is still recovering from his foot injury.
